FAQ

Will it actually fit an adult head?

Yes. These are sized for adult wear, not display only. The interior is padded and the opening clears a full-size adult head, which is exactly where cheap vac-formed shells fail. If you wear a large hat size, go for the Mark V or Mark XVII shells — they carry the most interior clearance.

Is the voice control a gimmick, or does it work?

It works, and it is the reason to buy this over anything cheaper. You set the wake phrase during setup, the onboard microphone holds it, and the faceplate drives on servos when you speak. A remote is included as a backup so you are never fighting ambient noise at a convention — which is the honest answer about any voice hardware.

£180 to £400 is a wide range. What am I paying for?

Shell complexity and how much of the helmet moves. The Mark V colourways sit at £249.99 with a single motorised faceplate. The Mark L adds a more complex shell at £329.99. The Mark XVII is the multi-piece build with the full staged opening sequence at £399.99. Same electronics standard across all of them.

What is the difference between the two Mark XVII helmets?

Colour only. Identical hardware, identical mechanism, both with English voice control. The chrome and black build throws hard reflections and reads almost liquid under lights; the gold and red is the classic silhouette. Pick on looks.

Why does delivery take three to four weeks?

Each shell is finished and each mechanism tested before it leaves, so units dispatch within 14 days rather than off a shelf. You are covered the whole way: if it has not arrived within 40 days you get a full refund, and if the carrier loses it we cover that too. Ordering for a specific date? Order four weeks out.

What if it arrives damaged or does not work?

Photograph it and email us. Damaged in transit, lost by the carrier, or not delivered at all — all three are refunded or replaced, and we pay return postage on anything faulty. You have 30 days to reject a faulty item outright and a 12-month warranty on the mechanism and electronics.

Can I return it if I just change my mind?

Yes. You have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, no explanation needed, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Return it in its original packaging and we refund the purchase price and standard outbound shipping. Return postage for a change of mind is yours to pay.

How long does the battery last?

One charge runs the servos and the eye arrays through a full evening of wear. It recharges over USB from the included cable. If you are storing it for months, charge it halfway first — a cell left fully flat for a long period degrades.
